Wednesday, May 12th, 2010So hey, I confess to a case of fashion schizophrenia…some days I”m Cybergirl, and some days I”m Glamour Girl. Really depends on what mood I”m in, whether the sun is shining, how long I”ve got to get ready to go out…
At the moment I”m going for pinup a little more often, since it”s a look I can work at the office with reasonable success – hah! – but seems to take a lot more hassle to get right.
Is it because Glamour is about the look – whereas Cyber is about the clothes?
I”ve got piles of Cyberdog, Dane 3000, Battery Organic and all those goodies, plus my trusty New Rocks, natch. Seems I can throw almost any of that stuff on, and I”m done – trying to channel Veronica Lake is NOT SO EASY!!
Still to master:
The hair. Oh God, the hair. How d”you get those waves??
Tops & jackets combos – gngh.
Pencil skirts? Check. Polka dots? Check. Cute heels? Check. Vintage accessories? Check.
So I”m getting there. I hope. Maybe one day I too will have a glamour glow…
Steampunk Calling…
Tuesday, July 21st, 2009I found this AMAZING steampunk phone on an American design website – it is just gorgeous. I think it would also compliment a Victorian retro goth-type room as well. It has a hand-crank on the side, and has beautiful engraving – shame that they couldn”t make it a moving dial, but then touch-tone *is* easier for dialling, I suppose!

We”re going to be at Leeds festival, the lineup is pretty decent this year, Placebo, Fall Out Boy, Prodigy, whatever your taste is, there”ll be something. And of course plenty of dressed up lunatics, which is my favourite bit. I lurrrrve Tom Morello!
